Although I have never had the need to hire a temporary person for our office, if I did, I would probably contact the local “OFFICETEAM” branch first. Why? Several years ago one of their area supervisors stopped by our office to give me some information about their services. Not only was she professional and personable, she really had a lot of great resources regarding hiring personal. I signed up to receive their news letter and updates for their resources and have never been disappointed when I received one. They are well written and are full of useful information from what salaries are for certain positions in my county, to office staff motivation. One of the most recent resource PDFs I received was about dealing with different personalities in the office and learning to understand what types of personalities people have. They called it “Color of Energy” and compared the personality and its traits to a color. The information was insightful and helpful when reviewed with all of the staff. They list for main colors, cool blue, fiery red, earth green and sunshine yellow, then tie certain personality traits to each color;
Cool blue: Cautious, precise, deliberate, questioning, and formal.
Fiery red: Competitive, demanding, determined, strong-willed, purposeful.
Earth green: Caring, encouraging, sharing, patient, relaxed.
Sunshine yellow: Sociable, dynamic, demonstrative, enthusiastic, persuasive.
All of the colors have their own strengths and challenges, but by understanding what a person is like will help you to work better with them. This great little book goes on to give information on what each “color” is like on a good day and a bad one. Also how colors can collide with each other and how you can work through differences.
This PDF resource is located on the OFFICETEAM website in the lower right-hand corner of the home page under the “Featured Information Section.” Not only will you find this great resource, but several others that I am sure you will find very helpful.
