“Do not judge the moment because once you judge it good or bad you limit it from being something else.” ~ Jay Shetty
The other day I was watching Jay Shetty in an interview (see link below if you do not know who he is) and he was talking about how often we limit the experiences we are having due to the fact that we judge them too quickly.
I really had not thought about this in this way before. He went on to say that “If something does not go the way that we expect that it should have that we will deem it as a failure or something bad.” Where if we just waited to see what happens and the final outcome, we may find that it really is not a failure or bad that is actually worked out well or that the lesson learned was so much more valuable than what we originally had hoped.
During this difficult time, for most people it is easy (I include myself in this) to get upset because things are different, and we cannot do what we really would like to. Instead if we could look for the positive (yes, there are many positive things we can find) and focus on them we will be surprised at how much better we can feel and we can pass that on to others that we do come in contact with in our homes and workplaces.
Just because we have to practice “physical distancing” does not mean that our attitudes cannot affect others. Let’s try to wait before we judge and see what great things may be in store for us. Thanks for the wise advice Jay Shetty!
Have a great Tuesday!
