Practice Kindness Each Day

Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la.  Just singing that line brings a smile to my face and makes me feel good, but what about making others feel good?  Wait it is only September, why is it that we wait until the holiday season to do nice things for others?

What about practicing some random acts of kindness each day?  They don’t have to be big or cost anything.  I like to give away “hellos” and “smiles” it is great to watch the reaction of those I give them to.

I was doing shopping this weekend , and because I waited until the holiday weekend the lines were amazingly long. There was not much I could do to move them along so decided to put on my happy face, smile and give a few hellos and thank yous away (making sure if they were to a sales person that I used their name).

The day was great for me and my encounters went well. I loved getting good positive reactions from the people who helped me and those that I just randomly saw, made eye contact with and said hello to.

I know it has been said many times before but “what a great place this world would be if we all practiced a little more kindness.”

Remember these acts of kindness don’t have to be saved for strangers, give them away freely to your co-workers, boss and customers.  They will be so happy to receive them and possibly they will give out a few themselves.  That is usually what happens, it becomes a chain of reaction.  How wonderful!

The links below are posts from people who have decided that random acts of kindness are the way to go and had fun doing them.

I think you will really enjoy reading them and it may give you a few ideas to try yourself.   Fa, la la la la, la la la la to you, even though it is only September!
