Planning Ahead Makes For A Better Day

I don’t know about you, but I am a person who likes “routines.”  I like knowing what I will be doing each morning and a timeline to do it in.  I realize this is not for everyone, but one thing I do know is when I am off of my routine in the morning my day is just not as productive.

Recently, when reading John Maxwell’s book, “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” I came across what Maxwell calls his “Navigation Strategy.”  I though I would share this with you today and possibly if you are not a routine person, and feel you need to be more productive, this might inspire you to give it a try.

Also, if you haven’t read John Maxwell’s book, I highly recommend it.

PLAN AHEAD

Predetermine a course of action

Lay out your goals

Adjust your priorities

Notify key personnel (This could mean your spouse or family)

Allow time for acceptance

Head into action

Expect problems

Always point to the successes

Daily review your plan
