It is the time of year when people begin to think about changes they want to make in their life. So often we want the change, but we are not willing to invest in what it would take to make it come about.
We think the price is too hard to pay and end up talking ourselves out of the possibility of making a change even before we begin. Change, real change in our life happens over time in small investments daily. We need to continue to make simple, small steps in what we want to be changed daily and over time it is amazing what we can accomplish.
In the book “The Slight Edge” author Jeff Olson states ‘”one should read 10 pages of a good book from authors such as Napoleon Hill, Stephen Covey, James Allen, etc., every day. Over a period of just one year, you would have read 3,650 pages, the equivalent of one or two dozen books of life transforming material. There is no question after reading 10 pages a day, over a period of one year, that your life will be changed.”
Jeff also states, “The simple truth is, how you feed your mind is every bit as critical to your happiness as how you feed your body.” Put junk in and you will get junk out. Put healthy, motivational and inspirational in, guess what you will get out?
Ten pages is a small investment, yet it will transform your life. Whatever the change is that you want to make just begin it in small steps every day. Do not give up, look back or get discouraged as long as you are moving ahead by doing something to reach your goal each day, no matter how small it is.
Each person has to accept responsibility for their own future. If you do not invest in yourself, you will most likely end up investing your life in someone or something else.
You deserve the best, give yourself time and a purpose to pursue whatever it is, and then just do it, one small step each day.
