That old saying "you are what you eat" really has a lot of truth to it.  Our body needs certain food nutrients

in order to function properly and there are certain foods and food groups that can actually help our brains to perform better.  Keeping our brains in tip-top condition will help us in every aspect of our daily lives from home to work to fun.  There is something that happens when you start taking more care of what you put into your body, it is the feeling of self-value, you start to realize that you are important and it is you that can determine what you feed yourself, good or not so good.  The link below is to the ask Dr. Sears website and has a lot of basic good information on "brain food".  Dr. Sears specialty is pediatrics and he has been on many T.V. programs such as Oprah, 20/20, CNN and more discussing good health habits.  It just makes good sense that we try to do what is best for ourselves and learn what are good foods to put into our bodies in order to get the best from them.  I would like my brain to perform better in 2011, how about you?
