In Napoleon Hill’s book, Keys To Success, he talks about “Gaining favorable attention.”
How do you gain favorable attention?
Napoleon Hill states: “People who need your work have things to offer you. You probably are not the only person capable of providing what they need. What will distinguish you from the crowd? The attention you generate by doing more than you are being paid to do.”
When you go to work each day do you just do the job tasks that are required of you and no more? Or are you someone who goes the extra mile, willing to make sure not only your work is done, but ask if you can help others with their work? This is what makes the difference between a good employee and an amazing employee, one who will gain favorable attention.
Personal initiative to put in the extra effort speaks louder to those your work with, and for, more than anything else.
Keep this in mind when you are “just doing your required job tasks today.”
“You can start right where you stand and apply the habit of going the extra mile by rendering more service and better service than you are now being paid for.” ~ Napoleon Hill
