The key to effective delegation is knowing your team players strengths and allowing them to be used in the best way possible to benefit the business as a whole. When people are doing something that they enjoy they not only will do a great job, but they will be happier.
The benefit for the manager when delegating appropriately is that their time will also be freed to focus in ways that they can serve the business better.
Team players must realize that there may be tasks they need to complete that are not their “favorite.” Usually they are more than willing to pitch in because the payoff of using their strengths is worth it.
It can be hard to find the balance for the team as a whole, but one that is well worth the effort to try and achieve as it makes a better work environment for everyone.
