“Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape” ~ Michael McGriff
If you work directly with other people or are part of a work team it is good to often do a self-evaluation of how you are doing as a co-worker.
It is very easy to look at others and see their short-comings or errors they make and forget how others see us.
John Maxwell has a book titled “17 Essential Qualities of Being A Team Player” and I thought we would take a look at some of these qualities over the next few days.
Are you flexible? Or do you stand rigid when change is mentioned or necessary? A good team player needs to be flexible. Just think about playing basketball you have to be ready to move in any direction immediately when the ball changes hands. If you do not, you probably will not be on the team long.
As a team player ask yourself these three questions.
What does it means to be flexible at my job?
Why is it important to be a flexible?
Can my being more flexible at work make a difference to my team and to the business as a whole?
A little bending and stretching is good for us personally and professionally. I am sure your teammates will appreciate your effort to be more flexible.
