Behavior That Can Cause Workplace Issues

Do you ever feel like you work in a zoo?  I am sure many times you may feel like you are working in a zoo, especially

when you are having a hectic day.  It can happen so subtlety, our offices can veer off course just slightly and before we know it we have zoo behavior going on.  What does zoo behavior look like?  Staff members can get on each others nerves, like monkeys picking at each other, the boss can develop a Tarzan like behavior where they beat their chest to get others to recognize they are the leader and everyone needs to follow them.  Maybe a few staff members like to joke around, and that is fine now and then, but when it becomes a habit and they are doing more playing around than work it can cause frustration and stress for other co-workers as they pick up the slack.  The office as a whole can lose their focus and when focus is lost productivity and morale goes down, stress goes up and everyone cannot wait until the day ends.  If you start to notice an occasional monkey flying through the air or a chimp rattling it cage it is time to step in and address the issues at hand right away before they become unbearable.  Open communication between office staff and their supervisors and business owners is the key to keeping the office a fun place to work and monkey business in its place.  The link below is a good article on 10 ways to know if you are working with monkeys, good insight to learn.
